Final Stats

STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of Nevada (2-8) men's basketball team rallied from a 20-point second half deficit at Pacific (7-4) and led 53-52 with just under 6 minutes to go only to come up short 69-65 to the Tigers on Thursday night. The loss was the eighth in a row for the Wolf Pack after starting the year 2-0. Pacific improved to 7-4.

With the game tied at six with 13:30 to play in the first half the Tigers put together a 29-11 run to lead by 18, 35-17 at halftime. Pacific led by 20 early in the second half before the Wolf Pack mounted a comeback and led by one point, 53-52 late in the second period but it was not to be as Nevada dropped its eighth in a row.

Sophomore guard D.J. Fenner hit a couple of late 3-pointers to pull the Pack within two, 67-65 with six seconds to play. After the Pack fouled Dulani Robinson to stop the clock he missed both free throws but managed to grab his own missed shot and made a layup as time expired to give Pacific the four-point victory.

Fenner finished with a game and career-high 24 points in the loss. Junior guard Tyron Criswell posted season bests with 12 points and eight rebounds. Point guard Marqueze Coleman was the third Pack player in double figures finishing with 10. Junior forward Lucas Stivrins made his first start of the season and set career-highs with nine points and a game-high nine rebounds.

T.J. Wallace led three Pacific players in double figures with 16 points. Robinson finished with 12 points, seven coming at the free throw line, six in the final 1:18. Alex Kobre added 10 points.

Pacific won the rebounding battled 47-34. Nevada shot 40.4 percent and the Tigers 39.7.

Nevada returns to action on Monday when Marshall comes to Lawlor Events Center for 7 p.m. game before breaking for Christmas.

Men's Basketball Postgame Notes

Nevada is 2-8 after falling 69-65 at Pacific (7-4) tonight.

The Wolf Pack hosts Marshall on Monday at 7 p.m. PT.

Nevada rallied from a 20-point deficit and led 53-52 with 5:57 to play but were unable to complete the comeback.

Nevada had its third different starting lineup in the last three games as Lucas Stivrins and Robyn Missa made their first starts of the year. Marqueze Coleman, D.J. Fenner and Michael Perez have started all 10 games.

Nevada has lost eight in a row after starting the year 2-0. The eight game skids equals the longest since the Wolf Pack dropped the final eight games of the 2012-13 season.

Junior AJ West missed the game with sore heel. It was the first game he did not play in this season.

Pacific leads the series 55-45 and has won the last three meetings and seven of the last eight.

Nevada's 65 points tonight snapped a streak of not scoring 60 points in the previous six games.

Sophomore D.J. Fenner scored a game and career-high 24 points. It is the Pack's first 20-point of the season and second time he posted a game high. Fenner has led the Pack in scoring a team-high six times and scored in double figures seven times this year.

Junior Tyron Criswell had season highs with 12 points and eight rebounds. It was his second double figure scoring game.

Junior Lucas Stivrins posted career-highs with nine points and nine rebounds. It is the first time this season and second time in his career he topped the team in rebounds.

Junior Marqueze Coleman scored in double figures for the eighth time this season which tops the team. Coleman netted 10 points.

Senior Michael Perez scored a career-low one point.

Perez started his 42nd consecutive game tonight.

The 17 points scored in the first half was a season low. The 18-point deficit at halftime was the largest this season.
Head coach David Carter is now 91-83 in his sixth season at Nevada. The 91 wins is tied with Len Stevens (1987-93) for sixth in career wins at Nevada.
