RENO, Nev. (AP) Marvelle Harris scored a career-high 40 points in leading Fresno State to a 69-66 victory over Nevada on Saturday.
Harris, who has 12 games of at least 20 points this season, opened the second half by scoring 16 of Fresno State's first 17 points as the Bulldogs (8-9, 3-1 Mountain West) extended an eight-point lead to 53-40.
Nevada responded with a 16-3 run and Eric Cooper tied the game at 56 with a 3-pointer with 3:55 to play. An 8-2 spurt got the Bulldogs back up by six, 64-58, with 27 seconds left. Nevada closed to 66-65 on a three-point play by Marqueze Coleman with four seconds left but Harris made two free throws and Paul Watson one and that was enough.
Coleman finished with 19 points and AJ West 16 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks for Nevada (6-9, 2-1), which saw a four-game win streak end.

Nevada is 6-9 overall and 2-1 in Mountain West play after falling 69-66 to Fresno State (8-9, 3-1 MW) today.
Nevada is at Colorado State (15-2, 2-2 MW) on Wednesday.
The loss snapped the Wolf Pack's season-high four-game win streak.
Nevada did not lead in the game and trailed by 13 with 11:27 to play but rallied to tie the score at 56.
Junior point guard Marqueze Coleman scored a career-high 19 points, 11 came in the first half. Coleman has scored in double figures a team-high 11 times.
Junior AJ West posted his third consecutive double-double, sixth of the season, fourth in five games and eighth of his career finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
West has seven double figure rebound games this year and 11 in his career. He posted a game high in rebounds for the ninth time this year.
West's eight blocks tied his career high set last season at Fresno State. He has 14 blocks in the last two games and a block in every game this season. In nine games he has two or more blocks this year.
West has scored in double figures in a five consecutive games, 10 on the season and 17 in his career.
Senior guard Michael Perez did not score for the first time in 47 career games at Nevada.
Nevada's bench outscored FS 23-6. It is the ninth time the Pack's bench has outscored its opponent. The Wolf Pack bench has scored in double figures in 14-of-15 games.
The Pack outrebounded the Bulldogs 42-34. It is the 10th time that Nevada won the rebounding battle.
Junior Tyron Criswell tied his career-high with 12 points. It is his third double figure scoring game of the season.
Head coach David Carter is now 95-84 in his sixth season at Nevada and 15-22 in his third season of MW play.
