RENO, Nev. (AP) - Jalen Moore tied his career-high of 22 points on Tuesday night as Utah State held off a late surge by Nevada to win 70-54.

The sophomore also had 22 in a loss to New Mexico on Jan. 10.

David Collette and Chris Smith scored 10 apiece for the Aggies (11-7, 4-2 Mountain West), who made 27 of 59 field goals. Moore has scored in double figures 17 times this season.

AJ West scored eight of Nevada's first 12 points, but Utah State pulled ahead 17-12 after a layup by Moore and led 29-19 at halftime.

West scored seven straight Wolf Pack points midway through the second half to pull Nevada within 50-45. The Aggies responded with 10 unanswered points, including 3s by Moore and Smith, then finished with a 7-2 run.

West led the Wolf Pack (6-11, 2-3) with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Nevada is 6-11 overall and 2-3 in Mountain West play after falling 70-54 at home to Utah State (11-7, 4-2 MW) tonight.

Nevada plays at Fresno State (9-10, 4-2 MW) on Saturday at 4 p.m. PT. The Bulldogs won the first meeting in Reno, Nev. 69-66 on Jan. 10.

The Wolf Pack is 5-4 at home and 1-2 in home MW games.

The Wolf Pack has lost its last three games after starting MW play 2-0.

Junior forward AJ West scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

West has scored in double figures in a seven consecutive games, 12 on the season and 19 in his career. The 12 double figure scoring games tops on the team. Six times he has topped the team in scoring this season.

West has topped the team in rebounding a team-high 12 times and 11 times has posted a game-high.

West's 12 double figure scoring games leads the team.

West has a block in every game this season and two or more in 12 contests.

For just the second time in 49 games senior guard Michael Perez did not score missing all five field goal attempts.

Sophomore guard D.J. Fenner missed his only free throw attempt of the game which snapped a streak of 15 in a row.

For the 10th time this season the Pack's bench outscored its opponent. Nevada got 19 off the bench tonight comparted to 14 for the Aggies.

Perez made his 49th consecutive start and Fenner has appeared in all 49 games during his Pack career.

Head coach David Carter is now 95-86 in his sixth season at Nevada and 15-24 in his third season of MW play.
