LAS VEGAS (AP) Marqueze Coleman hit a jumper with 5.2 seconds left to give Nevada a 64-62 victory over UNLV on Wednesday night for its first road win of the season.
A.J. West led Nevada (6-8, 2-0 Mountain West) with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Eric Cooper finished with 12 points and Coleman added six on 2-of-9 shooting.
Rashad Vaughn led all scorers with 20 points for UNLV (9-6, 0-2), while Christian Wood added 17. The Runnin' Rebels were outrebounded 47-39.
Nevada has now won three straight over the Runnin' Rebels for the fourth time in school history.
The Wolf Pack swept the series last season, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Rebels. It was the first time the Wolf Pack swept a regular-season series from UNLV since the 1994-95 campaign.

Nevada improved 6-8 overall and 2-0 in Mountain West play after defeating UNLV (9-6, 0-2 MW) 64-62 tonight.
Nevada hosts Fresno State (7-9, 2-1 MW) on Saturday at 3:05 p.m.
Tonight's game is part of the Governor's Series presented by NV Energy. The competition is a formal head-to-head athletic and academic challenge between longtime rivals -- the UNLV Rebels and the Nevada Wolf Pack. The winner of the season series earns three points toward Governor's Series.
Nevada has won the last three games from its intrastate rivals after sweeping the two games last year.
The last time the Pack won three consecutive games in the series was from 2003-2006 when the teams played just once each season.
The Pack has won a season-high four games in a row.
Tonight's victory was Nevada's first road victory. The Wolf Pack is 1-3 in true road games and 1-6 away from Reno.
Junior forward AJ West posted his fifth double-double of the season and seventh of his career finishing with 15 points and 15 rebounds to go along with six blocks.
West led the Pack in scoring for the fourth time and in rebounding for the ninth time this season.
West blocked six shots tonight which is tied for his season high. He has a block in every game this season and two or more in nine games.
Three of West's double-doubles have come in the last four games.
West played a season-high 35 minutes.
The 15 rebounds tonight is the eighth time West posted a game-high this season. He reached double figures in rebounds for the fifth time this season and seventh time in his career.
Freshman guard Eric Cooper, Jr. scored a season-high 12 points all coming on three-pointers. It is the first time he scored in double figures. The four made three-pointers is the high by a Pack player this season.
Senior guard Michael Perez finished the night with eight points and has now scored 501 in his Wolf Pack career.
Nevada's bench outscored UNLV 25-9. It is the eighth time the Pack's bench has outscored its opponent. The Wolf Pack bench has scored in double figures in 13-of-14 games.
The Pack outrebounded the Rebels 47-39. It is the ninth time that Nevada won the rebounding battle.
Head coach David Carter is now 95-83 in his sixth season at Nevada and 15-21 in his third season of MW play.
