PARK CITY, Utah -Â The Nevada Ski Team wrapped the first of four days of competition in Park City, Utah, Wednesday, as the slalom was contested in the Westminster Invitational at the Utah Olympic Park.
Snowfall throughout the day created challenging conditions, with the start of the day's runs being pushed back to a 9:30 a.m. MT start, and the hill being swept between the women's first run and the men's first run.
For the Pack,
Andreas Unhjem Smith was the top finisher, coming in at a combined time of 1:30.83 over his two runs. Smith clocked a 45.62 on his first run, then shaved a few tenths of a second on the second run of the day, coming in at 45.21.
Ulrik Danielsen (1:32.49) and
Ryan Herhusky (1:35.94) were the other two Pack skiers on the men's side to place, coming in 24th and 25th, respectively.
Elle Murphy was the lone Wolf Pack skier to place on the women's side, coming in 29th with a time of 1:57.90 over her two runs.
The Pack will compete once again in slalom Thursday, the first day of the Utah Invitational, with runs set to begin at 7:30 a.m. PT. The week's competition will end with two days of giant slalom, Friday and Saturday.
