Walday Naess, J. Halbjorhus tie for 15th to open DU Invitational

LOVELAND SKI AREA, Colo. – After spending the weekend in Steamboat Springs, the Nevada Ski Team traveled to Loveland, Colorado to compete in a two-day contest in the Denver University Invitational, where
Iver Walday Naess and
Jeger Halbjorhus tied for 15
th overall at the end of the second run, with a combined time of 1:38.55 Monday afternoon.

Walday Naess and J. Halbjorhus were only separated by three one-hundredths of a second after the first run, finishing 13
th and 14
th with times of 48.55 and 48.58 respectively. The same pattern followed during the second run as J. Halbjorhus (49.95) bested Walday Naess (49.98) by three one-hundredths once again, ultimately ending up tying for 15
th in the overall standings to conclude the first day.

The Pack had two more athletes on the men's side that placed within the top-30 in the standings.
Ulrik Danielsen (21
st) jumped up to finish just outside the top-20 after recording the seventh-fastest second run in the field with a time of 49.46.
Ryan Herhusky had two solid runs, allowing him to move up five spots to finish 30th with a combined time of 1:40.72.

It would be
Jessica Blackburn that shined for the Nevada women Monday morning, as she placed 32
nd overall, moving up six spots from her initial standing after run one (36
th) in a combined time of 1:45.16.
