Biography
SENIOR (2025-26): Started nine out of the 10 games played this season ... averaging 15.3 points per game and 2.4 rebounds ... has been an impactful player not only in the offense with 38 assists but also in the defense, as he lead the team with 13 steals ... had a season high of 24 points against Washington State (12/07) where 20 of it were scored in the second half ... recorded a season high of five rebounds against Louisiana Tech (11/04) and Pacific (11/08), and seven assists against Southern Illinois (11/12).Â
JUNIOR (2024-25): Â Comer is coming off a breakout junior campaign for Evansville in which he earned Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors after delivering career-best numbers across the board. Comer averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game, all marking new highs in his collegiate career.
A dynamic playmaker and relentless attacker, Comer drew frequent contact on drives, attempting 178 free throws—the fourth-most in the MVC—and converting at a 78.7 percent clip. While he shot 38.6 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from three, his consistent aggressiveness and ability to get to the line made him a key scoring threat.
SOPHOMORE (2023-24): In his sophomore campaign, Tayshawn Comer continued to build his role in the Eastern Kentucky backcourt, averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game — all increases from his freshman season. He recorded a career-high 22 points against Brescia and dished out a career-best 8 assists vs. Savannah State, showcasing his expanding skillset and offensive command.
FRESHMAN (2022-23):Â Tayshawn Comer made an immediate impact during his freshman season, playing in all 33 games and earning a starting role. He averaged 7.7 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game, while demonstrating composure beyond his years.
Comer posted a season-high 21 points against Brescia, showing flashes of his scoring potential, and recorded 7 assists in multiple games, including against Eastern Illinois and Boyce College.
