SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Nevada fell into a 9-1 hole four innings into Monday's contest at Sacramento State, eventually losing 11-2 to the Hornets.
Sam Harry put Sacramento State (13-20) ahead with a solo homer in the first then added a two-run single in the Hornets' three-run third. Harry added a three-run homer in Sacramento State's five-run fourth, and would go 3-for-4 with six RBIs on the night.
After Wolf Pack starter
Aidan Brainard exited after two innings, giving up just the first-inning run, Sacramento State scored 10 more runs over the next five innings against
Jordan Giacomini,
Nik Miller, and
Mahiro Tomita.
Nevada (17-11) got its runs on an RBI single from
Mikey Cruz Jr., who extended his hitting streak to 13 games, and
Jayce Dobie's solo homer in the sixth.
Hornet starter Devin James evened his record at 1-1, tossing three shutout innings before handing off to a quartet of relievers who held the Pack to two runs on five hits.
Nevada returns to Reno to begin a four-game home stand Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. against UC Davis.
